Sumo!

After this post I will finally be up-to-date!

I finally got to watch sumo! We went with Feel Japan so the tickets were cheaper too thanks to Hoshien’s discount :D

First we had chanko nabe - what sumo wrestlers supposedly eat (although we know better! We saw them eating at mcdonald’s and matsuya xD)! It was really healthy and delicious!

In the restaurant right next to Ryougoku Station. There was a mock sumo wrestling ring(?) inside!

Mmm chanko!

Then we went to the Edo-Tokyo Museum. I’ve been once before on the Grutto Pass but it’s a cool museum and I didn’t have to pay for it so it’s all good :D

Then we headed to the Ryougoku Kokugikan in time for what must have been like the finals for the day.

This picture makes it look like we were sitting really really far away. We were sitting in some of the furthest seats but we could see really clearly :D

Action shot! The guy nearly fell on this little lady. I say she got her money’s worth!

Winner does the bow dance!

I actually was expecting to be bored since I’d heard from people who’ve watched sumo that it’s quite boring. But I loved it! It was so exciting. Slapping, strangling, lifting people up, throwing people off the stage… so intense! And now I can cross watching sumo off my list of things to do in Japan :D
