Golden Week: Yokohama
It was Golden Week at the end of April-beginning of May. Golden week is a week(ish) of holidays made up of consecutive public holidays. Traveling in Japan gets expensive during Golden Week and it gets crazy crowded too! We were told that in Tokyo and the surrounding area there would be less people since everyone would be getting out of Tokyo which is why I thought that Yokohama wouldn’t be that crowded. But I was wrong! Very wrong! It was extremely crowded! But it was a beautiful day :) In fact, the weather was wonderful all through Golden Week which I heard was extremely rare. Normally it rains at least a couple days during Golden Week. I guess we got lucky! :D
We went to Chinatown first. I needed some good Chinese food - I hadn’t had any since I came to Japan. We ended up going to a buffet place and it was not very good at all >0< We wanted to go to another place but we would have had to wait 3 hours so we picked a place where we didn’t have to wait at all. Maybe that’s why there was no one waiting…
