Seishun 18: Himeji

We stayed the night in Kobe and headed to Himeji the next morning! I was super sad to leave the kotatsu at the hostel!! Kotatsus are so awesome, I really want to bring one home!

Kotatsu goodnes! :D

Anyhow, onto Himeji. We went to Himeji to see Himeji Castle. I’ve never actually been in one of these castles before (I’m too cheap =P) but Himeji Castle is said to be the ‘most spectacular’ castle in Japan so we went in! You get to see and learn about the structure of the castle which was quite interesting. There is also a lot of steep stair climbing though!

There are lots of different points of interest in the castle grounds but the weather was too horrible to really enjoy it. It was raining really hard and it was crazy windy D: My friend’s umbrella broke and mine just wouldn’t stop turning inside out so I was just really frustrated! In the end we left Himeji castle dripping wet and sat at a cafe to warm up before heading to our next destination - Nara!
