Seishun 18: Miyajima
The next morning we left Hiroshima for Miyajima. Miyajima is one of nihon sankei (3 most scenic places in Japan) and the floating torii was something I’ve always wanted to see and photograph!
We had to go quite early in the morning so we could catch a train in order to get to our next destination by night time! Since it was early, the tide wasn’t very high so Itsukushima Shrine and the torii didn’t really look like it was floating but it was still very beautiful! And because the tide was low we could go right up to the torii and saw deer frolicking under the torii!

Nihon Sankei Miyajima~

Itsukushima Shrine

After visiting the shrine we walked around the area between the shrine and pier. While getting the sand off our shoes, we had a close encounter with some deer! One of the even tried to get up my friend’s skirt hahaha

And we stumbled upon the world’s biggest rice paddle! I had no idea it was there so it was a pleasant surprise :D

Unagi and oysters are the famous foods in Miyajima. We tried some kaki fry (fried oyster) and it was the best oyster I’ve ever had!

Enjoying the oyster in front of the world’s biggest rice paddle! It doesn’t get better than this :D
After that, we made our way back to the pier and took the next boat back. We didn’t spend that much time in Miyajima but I really enjoyed it!
