Okinawa - Day 1

My friend and I decided to go to Okinawa for a warmer Christmas! So we left Tokyo from Haneda Airport early in the morning on the 23rd to go to Naha in Okinawa!

The weather was amazing! Sunny and like 23 or something :D But we couldn’t find the hostel so we went to the Tourist Information Center where the ladies there told us that it might be shady there because they’d never heard of the place. One of them even tried to make us stay at another hostel D: but we managed to get some directions and left to find our hostel. Because we’re full of win it took us like an hour to find the hostel which was supposed to be just 7 minutes away haha xD The place is kind of in a shady alleyway but it’s clean and the people were friendly. It was only 1000 yen a night though so it’s all good! By the time we put our stuff down and got to explore a little bit it was lunch time! We ate and explored Kokusaidori. Most of the attractions in Okinawa close at around 5pm (and they don’t let you in after 4 D:) so Kokusaidori is pretty much the only place to go after 5 so we were there a lot! D:

Okinawa food! - Okinawa soba is so yum :D

Mango softcream! - there’s so much tropical fruit in Okinawa! :D

Crazy shop signs on Kokusaidori!

After Kokusaidori we decided to try to find the only beach in Naha - Naminoue Beach. On the way, we came across Fukushuen - a beautiful Chinese garden. It was free of charge so we decided to take a look :D

We couldn’t find the beach at first but after walking around it several times found it! Naminoue Beach is terrible D: First it’s tiny and secondly there is no view from the beach! There’s this big bridge right in front of it and they’re also building something right in front of the beach so all you see is construction D:

Naminoue Beach - it’s terrible!

And that was it for the day! We walked back to Kokusaidori, had dinner, and went home!
